The energy of the west – from fictional to the real – powered this trip through Oklahoma, Texas and Arkansas, with moments to reflect on events that changed the course of recent history such as the Oklahoma City bombing and the JFK assassination.

The legend and life of Gene Autry contrasted with the fictional J. R. Ewing on "Dallas", while the luck of the draw in a card game gave rise to the Ace of Clubs House in Texarkana. Hot Springs, a presidential library and nostalgic train ride through beautiful mountains wrapped up this sojourn.
