What is Password Assistance?

ebankCBT Password Assistance allows users to reactivate a locked access. Simply establish a test question and answer (which only you should know), then you will be able to follow a few, simple, secure steps to unlock your access. Another security feature is an e-mail notification whenever your access locks out, notifying you if someone else attempted to log into your access.

Quick Summary:

To enable your Password Assistance option, go to Account Options and create a personal question and answer. You must also maintain your current e-mail address in order to receive information during the process. Then, should you lock out, click the “Reset Password” link on the ebankCBT login page.

You will be asked to provide your ebankCBT ID, the e-mail address on file under Account Options, and a subject line for an e-mail message that will be sent to your e-mail address on file. The Password Assistance e-mail contains a link you must follow within 2 hours. Following the link takes you to a secure page where you will enter your ebankCBT ID and answer your pre-arranged test question. Successfully entering your ebankCBT ID and answering the test question will allow you to create a new password and log in.

To maintain security and prevent someone from trying to trick the system into allowing them to create a new password, the system only allows the same access to be reset three times in any 24-hour period, and any incorrect information provided during the process locks access until you contact Ebank Help for assistance.

There is no cost for this service, all you must do is confirm your current e-mail address and set your spam blocking software to allow messages from ebankhelp “at” ebankCBT.com. E-mail providers such as Hotmail, AOL, MSN and Yahoo have very aggressive spam blockers and our experience has shown you must add us to your exception list or white list to be certain our alert will arrive
