DA resists Trump's attempt to remove judge from criminal case.

The Manhattan district attorney's office responded to a court filing by former President Donald Trump's,

lawyers on Tuesday, saying that Trump "has a prolific history of baselessly accusing state and federal judges around the country of bias" ,

and that there is no justification for the judge overseeing his criminal prosecution in New York to step down from the case.

Trump filed a motion earlier this month asking for the recusal of Justice Juan Merchan of the New York State Supreme Court,

who is presiding over the case in which Trump is accused of 34 felonies for falsifying business ,

records in relation to a hush payment to adult film actress Stormy Daniels just before the 2016 election.

To all charges, Trump has entered a not guilty plea.Trump claims the judge is biased because his daughter,

works for a firm that supports the Democratic Party. The district attorney's office in Manhattan claims that the recusal was unnecessary.
