Speaking out against the alleged abuse on the "One Tree Hill" set was empowering for Hilarie Burton.
The actress, who has two children with her 'Watchmen' co-star Jeffrey Dean Morgan, 57,
and played singer Peyton Sawyer on the popular teen drama for six seasons, was one of 17 women who in 2017 accused the show's creator,
Mark Schwahn, 56, of sexual harassment while the show was being developed.
These women included Sophia Bush, 40, and 42-year-old Bethany Joy Lenz.
Hilarie Burton spoke with Page Six about the accusation, saying, "It is an age-old lesson that honesty is always better,
it sets you free. When you're young, I think you're taught to believe that keeping your mouth shut will help you protect the people you care about.
