The NBA suspended Grizzlies star point guard Ja Morant for 25 games after he was seen brandishing
what appeared to be a handgun in a social media live stream on May 13, the league announced on Friday.
Morant "wielded the firearm while knowing he was being recorded and that the recording was being live streamed on Instagram Live,"
according to the league, despite having agreed not to repeat the activity that resulted in a March 4 suspension.
"Ja Morant's decision to once again wield a firearm on social media is alarming and disconcerting given his similar conduct in March for which he was already
suspended eight games," NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said in a statement. "The possibility that other young people will emulate Ja's behavior is particularly concerning."
