Paul McCartney Talks About John Lennon's 'Really Tragic Life' and 'Vulnerability'

Paul McCartney spoke honestly about his former Beatles bandmate John Lennon last week at the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival.

On Thursday, Conan O'Brien's podcast, Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend, will be recorded live.

Conan O'Brien, 60, and the 81-year-old English singer looked through old Beatles photos.

When the late-night talk show presenter played a video of the late John Lennon, he observed signs of frailty and anxiety on the musician's face.

"I don't know about the anxiety, but vulnerability is very true," McCartney replied in response to O'Brien's query.

", adding that in the early years of his 40-year life, Lennon faced countless "little tragedies."

"His mother was considered unsuitable to raise him as a child... When his father left the house, John was three years old.

So that's not so good," he thought. It made sense to me why he was so vulnerable.
